This website is a guide to be shared with schools, volunteers and others involved in the Sustrans Scotland’s I Bike programme.
It includes free, ready-made resources for all primary and secondary school year groups that are aimed at encouraging schools and pupils to be healthier and more active.
All activities, events and classroom sessions are aligned to the Curriculum for Excellence and wellbeing outcomes.
For curriculum-based resources, please go to our Remote Learning page.
Time and time again, research shows that physical activity is important in the health, wellbeing and development of children and young people.
Walking to school, cycling to work, or many other everyday journeys, active travel can offer a convenient, accessible and affordable way for people to move more.
For many, it is also a chance to create a regular habit which positively impacts on physical and mental health
We know how hard each school works to achieve better outcomes for every child in all areas of the curriculum for excellence as well as to nurture their overall wellbeing.
I Bike helps support these target areas. Our Officers work to provide a programme of classroom and outdoor sessions tailored to meet your school’s needs, to give the best chance of seeing these benefits for pupils.
If you’d like more information to help inspire your school, staff and parents, please ask your I Bike Officer or email IBike@sustrans.org.uk
