Sustainable Development Goals

What are the Sustainable Development Goals?

The Sustainable Development Goals are a set of global priorities for ensuring that economic, environmental, social and cultural wellbeing is achieved for everyone around the world. They are ambitious goals for governments across the world to achieve, but there is a lot we can do at school and at home to support them.  Watch the Introduction below to find out more.

Through I Bike, we would like you to join with the rest of the world in working towards achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 and we know that young people in Scottish schools can help this happen! In general, these are targeted at P5 to P7.

I Bike can use the UN’s global goals for sustainability to deliver STEM lessons through outdoor learning. These can be delivered as one-off lessons or a whole series of activities. The lessons are designed to be comprehensive – you can choose to edit/update to meet your class needs.

The downloads have a lesson plan (LP)  for each goal. These can be delivered by your I Bike officer or used by school staff.  These lessons are designed to be delivered as part of a  led ride, scoot or walk.

We are in the process of updating these lesson plans to make them more suitable for COVID restrictions. Click on this link to download the adapted lesson plans. The download section on the right of this page still has pre-lockdown lesson plans.
